National Council Chair
Alan Jessen was born in Cedar Falls, Iowa and graduated from Grinnell College with an economics degree in 1975. He joined the Unification movement in Oakland, California in 1976.
Alan worked in local church and business missions until returning to Iowa in 1993. He was both state leader and pastor of Iowa from 1999 to 2015 and currently serves on his local district council. Alan has worked in the field of economic development and as the director of a non-profit organization until becoming self-employed in sales and finance in 2003.
Alan and his wife, Margaret, attended the Marriage Blessing Ceremony in 1982. They have two children, Amadea de Groot and Toby, who have blessed them with three beautiful grandchildren.
