Dr. Michael William Jenkins was born in Dayton, Ohio in 1952. He graduated from Ohio University in 1974 with a Bachelors of Science and joined the Unification Church later that year. He served as a missionary in Chicago and Indiana until joining the 120 Day Training program in early 1975. In September 1975, he was admitted to the first class of the Unification Theological Seminary and graduated in the Religious Education program in 1977. After MFT training he became state leader of Texas, Maryland and later the Chicago District. From there, he worked on values education for elected officials with the American Freedom Coalition.
In 2000, Dr. Jenkins became president of the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification USA. At the same time, he helped to organize and develop the American Clergy Leadership Conference and in subsequent years, has worked on interfaith and peace dialogue as part of the Universal Peace Federation International’s Middle East Peace Initiative.
In 2009, Dr. Jenkins became the Chairman of the ACLC and in 2012, was appointed director of the HSA Office for Business Investment and Asset Development which oversees the business, financial and real estate interests of the FFWPU USA.
Dr. Jenkins received the Marriage Blessing to Reiko. They have five children and one grandson.
