First Workshop & Parents Day at the Peace Center
After a successful turnout for the Divine Principle workshop in May, participants continue to warm the rooms of the Peace Center with a passion for learning the Divine Principle—the teachings of FFWPU founder, Rev. Sun Myung Moon. Workshop participants will study the Divine Principle from beginning to end in seven days with discussion-based lectures, Q&A sessions and an interactive program.
On Saturday, July 25, the workshop kicked off to a great start with 10 participants from all over America. The following day, Sunday, they received special inspiration from Dr. Ki Hoon Kim, Continental Chair of FFWPU as he offered the Sunday sermon about National Parents’ Day. There was lots of love from the local community, as well, who joined in during sports activities.
Rev. Andrew Compton, organizer of the workshop, gave a few presentations. Although each participant came from a different background and circumstance, everyone was engaged and grateful for the opportunity to study the Divine Principle in more depth.
Besides the 10 fully registered participants for the seven-day workshop, there were others from the local community, including several new Unificationists, attending on a day-to-day basis. Jin Soon Stephens, the workshop coordinator, along with members of the local church and Collegiate Association for the Research of Principles (CARP) center offered support to make this workshop an unforgettable experience.
With so much in store, the participants will continue to study the Divine Principle and engage in discussion groups. Workshop participants are excited for a scheduled outing to Hoover Dam and touring the newly built Peace Center later this week.
This workshop is a special one: it’s the continuation of the tradition of Divine Principle workshops at the Peace Center, which will continue to be held monthly. Stay tuned for the next one and be sure to sign up!
