KEA Pastors Conference
Fourteen pastors of the Korean Evangelical Association (KEA) and their spouses attended a conference at the International Peace Education Center in Las Vegas from January 25-27. Eight years after their last meeting, this conference was initiated by the FFWPU North America Continental Chairman, Dr. Ki Hoon Kim, who attended the conference and presented on Father and Mother Moon’s providence of Las Vegas and the responsibility of the KEA in the USA.
The conference was primarily a chance for pastors to touch base and update each other on their church activities and growth in their local areas. They shared lively discussions about education and outreach, and learned best practices for each other. Each church’s situation was studied, and practical plans were made for the future.
Through Dr. Kim’s presentation, pastors were able to gain a deeper understanding of why Father and Mother Moon invested a lot into Las Vegas, and the importance of education not only for Unificationists but the broader community. The pastors were grateful to be able to meet at this central point in True Parents’ legacy as they discussed next steps in their ministries.
“I was so happy to see the KEA pastors because it’s been eight years since we last met,” said Rev. Chang Woon Jeong, Los Angeles KEA Pastor. “As we shared together about our activities, I felt like we all play important roles in the FFWPU USA mission, centering on Father and Mother Moon. Especially through Dr. Ki Hoon Kim’s presentation and his own testimony, I came to understand the importance of the Las Vegas providence and Dr. Kim’s sincere heart towards Father and Mother Moon, USA leaders, and Unificationists.”
“I believe that I received a new mission and began a new start through this conference,” said Rev. Jong Deok Kim, Ohio KEA Pastor. “I learned the importance of our role as mediators, of unity with True Parents, of sustainability, and of ownership. Through sharing and discussing each other, we could learn each other’s best practices and it felt like we are one family under True Parents. Through this conference, KEA pastors were able to begin a discussion which we intend to continue.”
