Seminar Answers, “What is Happiness?”
On Saturday, over 20 students of the University of Las Vegas (UNLV) and local Unificationist youth and family members attended a half-day Divine Principle Seminar titled, “What is Happiness?” Seven of the participants were guests who have recently been studying various levels of the Divine Principle. This was their first time attending a workshop at the Peace Center.
The goal of the workshop was to share True Parents’ teachings with participants, notably that the route to true, lasting happiness requires a society and world founded upon universal principles and the Marriage Blessing.
Reverend Andrew Compton, Education Director at the International Peace Education Center, tackled the timeless question of “What is happiness?” by sharing a general overview of the Divine Principle, and then honing in on the vision of creating a world of peace through the Marriage Blessing Ceremony.
The Las Vegas Family Church hosts half-day Divine Principle seminars once every month to prepare guests on the path towards a life of true love through the Blessing.
“When I look back at my past relationships, I can see that it wasn’t about true love,” reflected Priscilla, a senior at UNLV.
“Reverend Compton explains how to achieve happiness in a simple and relatable way,” shared Richard, a graduate student at UNLV.
“I was able to learn the importance of the Blessing Ceremony and how selfish love has prevented this world from becoming better. The lectures were really smooth and straight to the point. I liked it a lot.”
“I really appreciated the point that the next level of salvation is the family, and the way to do that is through a new ‘seed’ and the Marriage Blessing ceremony. I never heard the Divine Principle taught in that way. It makes me appreciate God’s love for us and True Parents on a much deeper level.”
“I felt that everything was well connected and the theme and outcome of the workshop was very clear and to the point. Through God’s love and the Three Great Blessings we can experience the greatest happiness in our lives. I felt that anyone, no matter their cultural or religious background, can attend the seminar and leave with something.”
Participants and family members enjoyed the experience and are looking forward to attending either a two-day or a seven-day program in the future.
