Theme: Discover God’s heart and viewpoint through the study of the Divine Principle, True Father’s words, God’s path through human history, and the example of our True Parents.

Our 7-day Divine Principle retreat is our flagship educational program at IPEC, where we delve into life’s greatest questions about God, purpose, love, and freedom from the perspective of the Exposition of the Divine Principle.

We’ll also make trips to significant local landmarks, including the Hoover Dam, Lake Mead, Red Rock Canyon, and Rev. and Mrs. Moon’s Las Vegas home, Cheon Hwa Gung, to learn more about their sincere efforts to guide America back to God through their ministry in Las Vegas.

FAQ

When should I arrive/depart?

The 7-day retreat begins at 7 am on the first date listed (usually a Wednesday, with some exceptions). Please arrive the day or evening before the first day.

The retreats concludes with lunch on the last date listed (usually a Tuesday, with some exceptions). Please plan to fly out later in the afternoon or evening of the last day.

How do I get to IPEC?

If you are driving, the address is 6590 Bermuda Rd., Las Vegas, NV 89119, near the corner of Bermuda Rd. and E. Sunset Rd.

If you are flying, when you arrive at the airport you need to take the free shuttle bus to the McCarran Rent-A-Car Center (7135 Gilespie St, Las Vegas, NV 89119). Buses go there every 15 minutes. Call the team (either Rev. Andy Compton, 917-533-8262, or Gregg Smith, 951-318-6626) and they will come pick you up at the rental car center.

What do we do at an IPEC 7-day retreat?

In addition to lectures on the Divine Principle, a significant amount of time is spent visiting local landmarks like the Hoover Dam, Lake Mead, Red Rock Canyon, Mt. Charleston, and occasionally the Grand Canyon. Where we go typically depends on the size of the retreat as well as the time of year.

What should I bring?

Please bring the following with you to IPEC:

  • A color-coded version of theExposition of the Divine Principle
    • You can buy a copy at hsabooks.com or use this free digital version from dplife.info
    • We also have copies available to borrow or purchase at IPEC ($25 to purchase)
  • Radio
    • Not necessary for most regular workshops, but it never hurts to have a radio (and batteries and earphones) on hand–just in case
  • A journal and pen
  • Toiletries
  • Any medications (if applicable)
  • Reusable water bottle
  • Casual clothes are fine day-to-day
  • It can get warm here, but it can also get cold at night and at the Grand Canyon–please bring layers to keep you warm
  • One nicer outfit for Sunday service
  • For potential outings or outdoor activities, we recommend bringing the following:
    • Sunscreen
    • Hat
    • Sunglasses
    • Comfortable walking/sport shoes
    • Sports/hiking clothes
  • Optional: a swimsuit, water shoes–we may go swimming in Lake Mead, weather permitting

What if I need to come a day early or leave a day late?

You will be charged an additional fee of $75 per room per night for each extra night stayed (the cost will be split among the roommates, between 2-4 people depending on the workshop). But if your extended stay is made necessary by a flight issue, you may only be charged $25 for any additional nights. Please contact our operations manager, Gregg Smith (divineprincipleretreat@unification.org, 951-318-6626), if you anticipate needing to stay longer than the standard retreat schedule.
