Chicago Community Receives Special Reports from Korea
On March 3, 2018, the Chicago Family Church had the pleasure of listening to two amazing testimonies: Dr. Ki Hoon Kim, Regional Chairman of Family Federation North America, spoke about the recent holy day celebrations in Korea, while Carie Arline, a young Unificationist who has been working as Local Council President and Volunteer Coordinator in Chicago, shared about the meaning of being a second-generation Unificationist based on her experience attending a 40-day workshop in Korea.
The past few weeks were jam-packed with celebrations, conferences, and musical performances, and the congregation was eager to hear more about what had transpired in the homeland of our True Parents. Before beginning, Dr. Kim apologized for his hoarse voice. He explained to the laughing audience that he had lost it while taking first prize in True Mother’s yute (traditional Korean board game) tournament. Dr. Kim went on to share that leaders from around the world had gathered in Korea to learn from one another and plan how they might fulfill their roles as tribal messiahs in their own communities.
Before Dr. Kim spoke, the audience listened to a testimony by Carie Arline who had just returned from attending a 40-day workshop at the Cheongpyeong Heaven and Earth Training Center in Korea. Carie was inspired to go to Cheongpyeong after graduating from college and realizing that she wanted to live a life of integrity. In her testimony, Carie shared how deeply moved she was to realize that we are all blessed to live at the same time as True Parents. “Our ancestors never had that experience,” Carie explained. She continued to say that as a second-generation Unificationist, she represents both her father’s lineage and mother’s lineage. Listen to the rest of her moving story in the video above!
