CARP Dallas Discovers “The Why”
The Collegiate Association for the Research of Principles (CARP) chapter in Dallas, Texas held their annual “Discover Purpose” Divine Principle workshop from January 8 to 12. The five-day retreat featured guest speakers Dallas Pastor Rev. Hideyuki Sakai and Rev. John Jackson, Southeast Subregional Director for Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU) USA, who gave the Sunday sermon.
Under the theme “The Why,” the workshop posed important questions to its small group of 13 participants about the whys of life, unexpected events, and God’s plan for each person. “I felt that God gave us a small group of people so we could bond closer together,” said Andrew Olson, president of CARP Dallas and director of the workshop. “The atmosphere allowed us to trust each other, and we knew we could support each other no matter the situation or circumstance.”
One participant, who came from an agnostic background, shared that he felt he had come to the right place because the group felt like a family, where everyone loved each other and loved to have fun. He left with a clear determination to practice the principles he learned in his daily life. Other participants also left the workshop feeling ready to change the world and encouraged by the recent Peace Starts With Me Clergy Rally to begin by finding peace within themselves.
