Thousands of People in LA Kick Off 2019 Rallies for Peace
Los Angeles, CA (April 6, 2019) — More than 6,000 people joined the Peace Starts With Me rally at City of Refuge megachurch in Gardena, CA. This was a call to promote peace in a community rocked by violence with the recent murder of American rapper Nipsey Hussle and a nation becoming more divided.
“Standing for peace isn’t an easy task,” said Dr. Ki Hoon Kim, Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU) Regional Chairman for North America. “In order to overcome the violence and the many challenges facing our society, we need to rise above our differences and work together to love and heal our fellow brothers and sisters to build true peace.”
The rally was a joint project of FFWPU, an organization striving to establish a world of peace and unity among all people, and the American Clergy Leadership Conference (ACLC), a coalition of faith leaders working beyond denomination to strengthen marriages and families.
“You are a temple of God, so let the Holy Spirit dwell within you,” said Archbishop George A. Stallings, Jr., Chairman of International Association for Peace and Development (IAPD) during his prayer.
FFWPU Blessing and Family Ministry Director Crescentia DeGeode lead a Blessing Rededication Ceremony, which reinforces a couple’s commitment to God and each other. ACLC National Co-chair Dr. Luonne Rouse and his wife Marie officiated the ceremony.
“God is doing something incredible, something holy in this space,” said DeGeode.
City of Refuge pastor Bishop Noel Jones shared a message of hope to bring people together from all faiths and backgrounds.
“God put us all on this earth to live together in peace,” said Bishop Jones. “You have to fight certain conceptualizations about religion. We have to turn our backs to the violence and turn the world upside down.”
FFWPU Co-founder Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, affectionately known as the Mother of Peace, then took the stage to deliver the keynote address. She spoke about how the earth is deteriorating from self-centered human consumption and how we must unite and initiate peace to rebuild the earth together.
“We cannot sit idly by and watch. This world, which our Creator, God, created for us from the outset, is suffering and dying due to our ignorance… We must find solutions to these problems before it is too late. This means that self-centeredness, and nations that place their national interests first, will ultimately not survive…We must combine our efforts and work in unity in order to do that,” said Dr. Moon.
A donation was made on behalf of Dr. Moon to Nipsey Hussle, in addition to three local charities. A 500-voice choir directed by Jason McGee and backed by Grammy award-winning gospel artist Hezekiah Walker brought the crowd to their feet. Collegiate Associate for the Research of Principles (CARP), a national college organization for youth, danced to the Korean song “Mujogeon,” followed by a local team of praise dancers.

“Dear True Mother, thank you very much for Blessing us with your words and your love at the City of Refuge Church. As our team prepared for this program, we were always aware of how significant it is that a major Christian community was opening its doors and hearts to welcome you.
Truly, the City of Refuge is becoming the City of Victory.
There were scores of pastors, ministers and other Christian leaders from all over the Western Subregion and many from other parts of the country who were present. Everyone was excited and open to your message; a message that is very new to them but one that they readily accepted.
Your explanation of the plight of the natural world due to human self-centeredness really touched people. They are aware that there is a problem, but they don’t know the heart or the feeling of it; the feeling of a True Parent’s love toward the earth. They could feel that heart today.
I’m excited about all the opportunity that has arisen throughout this time of preparation to welcome you to Los Angeles. Many new relationships were established with individuals and groups, especially Christian churches. We’re already at work planning the next steps as the Western Subregion moves forward to support America as a Cheon Il Guk nation by 2020.” –Rev. Larry Krishnek, Western Subregional Director, FFWPU
“Dear True Mother, this has been an amazing experience of the development of the foundation of True Parents’ love, wisdom and providential sacrifice! The deep faith and open hearts of the leaders of the City of Refuge Church is an inspiration to us. We feel that their willingness to support True Parents’ Blessing is just the beginning of an avalanche of religious and political leaders who can begin to embrace True Parents!
Your clear and strong history of Christianity was excellent preparation for your introduction of True Parents and the value of the Blessing. It was a tender warning to America that it cannot survive without God and that the country was blessed by God with the intent to save America. You boldly encouraged the clergy to become Tribal Messiahs and realize the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth. Indeed, this day is a great new beginning and has become the nation that is on fire for God. We will heal and cure the problems of this nation with true love. Bishop Jones was warmly embraced with your admonition to lead the nation and obviously moved by your generous gifts!
Your visit has filled us with love, hope and joy! We are determined to carry this victory throughout the nation. Thank you, True Mother!” –Rev. Ernest Patton, Southeast Subregional Director, FFWPU
“Dear True Mother, what a beautiful message you gave today! Not only to Bishop Noel’s church but to all of America. You were bold and direct from start to finish. Christianity was blessed because of your spirit and heart of a True Mother.
It was so heartwarming to see you welcomed at a megachurch. This is only the beginning of a great revival across America. Soon many megachurch pastors will all want to join in the great Blessing.
Your gift of the FFWPU flag to Bishop Noel Jones was such a great Blessing. He felt so proud and so did we that this will be the first mega-church to fly the flag. Congratulations True Mother for a great victory in the City of Angels.” –Rev. Richard Buessing
“Congratulations to True Mother. Her message allowed us to have a deeper appreciation of Christian history, American history and a greater understanding that True Parents alone cannot “correct the course” so that Christianity and America can reconcile with God and begin anew. The video before True Mother’s speech gave a hint of the mountains that she has climbed to stand today as God’s representative and as victor. Congratulations and thank you to Dr. Kim, Rev. Dunkley, Rev. Krishnek and to the CARP missionaries who laid the foundation and identified this important moment in the Providence when a man like Bishop Noel Jones could receive the Family Federation flag and boldly proclaim, “This truly is The Mother of Peace and the Only Begotten Daughter of God.” Thank you to God and True Parents for a standard-setting, historical event!” –Thomas Ward
“Dearest True Mother, thank you! Inside and out you radiate God’s love and beauty and I feel eternally blessed to have been able to see you in person and to be able to share the precious words from Heaven with my husband beside me and my family through the video. We could feel your love so deeply. Hearing your words resound through the City of Refuge Church with all your children from different faiths and backgrounds moved our hearts so much and made us feel like one family where there were no boundaries or barriers. It was so precious for us to hear your honest words of where we are and where we need to be. It was so clear through your words and actions that you need us to unite under you as our parent and share the Blessing no matter our background. In this environment we could feel the shift from separate entities into one.
Your words evoked so much hope and peace. I could not help but tear up and feel that we are on the precipice of something amazing where miracles can happen, and everything Heaven is waiting for is possible if we only follow your directions and will.
I felt the burning in my heart to spread this love and passion through education and sharing with others. Thank you, True Mother for bringing us together. Love you for all eternity!” –Mari Curry, Director of Education at FFWPU
“The spirit at the City of Refuge Church was very different than anything I have experienced before. It has everything to do with Bishop Noel Jones, his staff, and his congregation to not just welcome, but sincerely host True Mother coming to Los Angeles.
I loved the video that gave some history of True Mother in her own words. I choked up thinking about how challenging her life must’ve been from an early age until today.
The thing that inspired me most from her message was her confidence in who she is as the Only Begotten Daughter. I’ve never heard her speak like that before. The audience was very receptive as well, cheering whenever they heard something inspiring to them. Happy to see True Mother smiling. The whole event was spectacular. Looking forward to the next one.” –Rev. Miilhan Stephens, Secretary General of Northeast Subregion, FFWPU
“The rally was truly amazing and yet at the same time had a very familial feeling to it. Everything went so smoothly, to the point where I forgot that we were worshipping in a Christian church together with so many brothers and sisters I’ve never met. Joining the youth this weekend, I also felt how much everyone in LA has been united on a central focus of truly getting to know and understand our Christian brothers and sisters. I think that’s what contributed to that familial feeling.
Thank you, True Mother, for your sincere devotion over the last 43 days, which made this event truly successful. I felt so much of your loving care and heart as you spoke to the audience.
Thank you for not giving up on us after True Father’ ascension but doing your best and offering even daily exercise for the sake of Heaven and forwarding the Providence. Sun Jin Nim shared with us this weekend about her experience with you in Hawaii those first eight months after Father‘s ascension. Her sharing about your strength brought all of the youth so much encouragement and hope to offer every action we have for the sake of God and the Providence, and to not forget about the importance of taking care of our physical, spiritual, emotional, and mental health so that we can be the greatest example for this world.” –Mika Deshotel, District 4 Pastor
“Thank you, True Mother for being bold and speaking clearly about America and its role as a Christian nation. Everything was put into perspective for Christianity to welcome True Parents and to work together at this time to restore this nation and spread this message to the world. True Mother’s preparation was very evident in speaking from her heart embracing the mega church congregation as well as the leadership! We hope this is the beginning of something very special and the Holy Blessing can transform this nation quickly.” –Jeffrey Schmidt
“The whole program was very good from the beginning until the end. The highlight was Mother’s speech, it was amazing, from her appearance (like she was going to talk to her children), no official clothes and she spoke very softly about the history of Christianity, America, and Korea which would blow the minds of the audience. At the end she gave the FFWPU flag to Bishop Jones so he can take responsibilities to spread the Blessing to others. When she talked about Heavenly Parent, there were tears in her eyes, her deep heart toward Heavenly Parent was so moving. It was wonderful and uplifting for America, who is facing tremendous problems, received hope from Heaven.” –Pratuang Jimenez, Bridgeport, CT
“Dear True Mother, thank you for coming to Los Angeles for the Peace Starts With Me Rally at Bishop Noel Jones’ church. It was a great victory for the restoration of Christianity!
I was deeply moved by the clear and absolute resolve expressed through your message. Your explanation of the history of God’s Providence and proclamation as the Only Begotten Daughter were profound.
I was also moved by Bishop Jones’ affirmation of your providential identity and importance. I worked with the City of Refuge Church during the past few weeks and found that his conviction is genuine. He views today’s event as a major historical step for his church and the world.
I am excited by the great developments to take place during this important year and am grateful to participate in the building of God’s Kingdom. Thank you, True Mother for your steadfast love, grace and leadership.” –Rev. David Rendel, Midwest Subregional Director
“Dear True Mother, I love you so much! I was in tears when I first saw you appear, and it was the greatest blessing to see you up close! You were so beautiful, and your message was incredibly inspiring to the youth and all the Christian members in the City of Refuge Church. I felt that Bishop Noel Jones was sent by Heaven to receive you and True Father in the spirit world, and this is such an amazing time to be alive. I felt God’s heart of hope and determination conveyed through your heart, and I will absolutely work harder to comfort your suffering heart. I will give my whole heart and mind to ease your suffering and Heavenly Parent’s suffering. As a Blessed Central couple, I will pledge to share my Blessing to my friends within my community. I love you True Mother! Please know that your second generation Unificationists are here for you. We want to always see you close whenever you speak.” –Kouki Tamura, Bay Area, CA
“True Mother and God really believe that we Unificationists can connect and have a relationship with Christians. We live in a country where Christianity all started, and it is important for us to make the first move to reach out to them. We can save the world. True Parents had set many foundations so we should continue paving the way to our future and take action for peace in the world. Peace starts with ME! We should also take care of the environment and nature, which God made for us to feel joy through. We should always think about the 2020 motto, having natural restoration. I was so happy when True Mother said, “I trust in America.” That really touched my heart, and this made me want to really fulfill God and True Parents’ dream and desires!” Kurea Tachiiri, Los Angeles, CA
“My wife and I have been working with True Parents’ events in different parts of the world since 1988. Mother’s visit to Los Angeles was a completely different thing, we were working together with our Christian brothers and sisters to welcome True Parents.
Our pastors who came were excited and didn’t want to miss it. One elder pastor who worked with ACLC for a long time had retired grabbed me by my arm and stared into my eyes and said: “I have been in the ministry for 45 years, I’ve been retired here for 14 years, wondering what God had planned for me. Now I know. I’m holding on to you and not letting go. I’m all in.”
Another pastor, who is now an associate pastor in a small church in our area, had also worked with ACLC for a long time. She and her husband were Blessed in Las Vegas some years back. They had pastored a big church in Los Angeles, the International House of Praise.
God was working in many amazing ways. At midnight on Friday before the event, we realized that somehow the cake for True Parents’ Day wouldn’t be coming on time. The night manager of the hotel had an incredible attitude. He said, “Go to bed, come here in the morning and I will have a solution for you.” At 6:30 a.m. Saturday we met a baker at a nearby bakery, Claudette. She was not only willing to prepare the cake, but she really invested her heart in the process. Even though it was a simple cake, she decorated it very nicely with fruit and mango slices. And it was ready on time. Spirit world guided her and the manager to have a heart of attendance to True Parents.
Bishop Noel Jones’ talk on Sunday during Sunday Service revealed how much he has captured True Parents’ vision, and at least recognizes True Mother as The Mother of Peace. One thing struck me strongly, when he said, “As Christians we focus on having faith but what about love?” He reminded us that Sunday is the most segregated day of the week in America. “We have to go beyond all those barriers.”
He is usually the main speaker at any event he goes to, especially in his church. But on Saturday he reminded everyone that he is not the main speaker, True Mother was. My wife and I can feel the rising wave of revival, where Christian churches embrace the Blessing, unite more as brothers and sisters and become shining lights of hope for their communities. Now is the time, restoration of America is at hand. Thank you, True Mother for believing in us, we won’t let you down.” –Michael Irwin
“I feel that this event was a step above the previous events. The fact that we were invited to use that church created a real feeling of welcome, quite different from a stadium venue. I was especially excited by Dr. Kim’s message for two reasons: first because he was tremendous, his spontaneous response to the audience’s applause on “one side” was delightful, and secondly so many of the speakers have a very loud and flamboyant style, while Dr. Kim is a bit more reserved. However, his presentation helped to emphasize the value of differences in people and cultures. Dr. Kim was equally sincere and perhaps deeper in content, yet his message was just as valid. I was impressed with Bishop Noel Jones for his heartfelt introduction. Though he is a famous person he took absolutely no attention for himself and gave it 100% to True Mother. Mother’s speech was very moving. She seemed almost on the brink of tears as she spoke about Jesus. She was gentle, earnest but firm with her message.” –Carol Pobanz, Nutley, NJ
“When I heard that GPA would be attending this special and amazing occasion, I was really excited. But more importantly, I wanted to prepare myself. I wanted to have the best experience possible as a team leader and also wanted to provide the best experience I could. Going into this event I set conditions to prepare for what was to come, and our GPA group also set conditions as we fundraised to lay a foundation in California. As we fundraised we invited all the good spirits to the event and constantly sent investments and prayers to True Mother. Because of this and a number of other factors I was able to have an amazing experience. I prepared myself. I was able to be a team leader I’ve never been before, and my relationship with God and True Parents grew a lot and now my faith is the strongest it has ever been.
The speech felt more personal compared to when I watched the speech on screen. It was interesting how some points connected with what I’m currently learning in college. Thank you for coming to LA despite your busy schedule. Hope you stay happy and healthy.” –Myunghwa Nakamura, 20, San Francisco
“I was so happy that I was able to go to LA. I never thought that I would get to go to this rally. It was very unexpected and surprising and I was really grateful for that. I felt that God wanted me to go to this rally and enjoy my time there because I wanted to go meet True Mother and be there for her. I’m so grateful for being able to dance “Mujogeon” on stage and it has been my dream since 2017 at Madison Square Garden in New York when I danced every praise. The second thing I’m really grateful for is that I got to connect with brothers and sisters from all around the world. It has just been a great opportunity, especially since there were like 400 youths and just being there and meeting people I don’t know and making new friends was great. The final thing I’m really grateful was to be in front of True Mother. When I saw True Mother, she looked beautiful and she seemed very happy to see the youth in front of her. When I got to be in front of True Mother I felt that I received a gift from God. I am very thankful and I cannot describe how much I’m thankful to God. This experience was really wonderful and I thought the spirit came to me. Thank you True Mother and Sun Jin Moon for coming to America again! I love you! ️” –Reina Sato, 14, New York
“Leading a team for the first time was actually a lot of fun and a great learning experience as well. Being a CIT (Captain in training) I could use all the training/experience I could get and this was a good way of preparing and seeing where I could progress and what I could improve upon. I understand that before I can lead others to God and True Parents, I myself must bring myself to God and True Parents. I made a realization that I still have a lot to improve in my relationship with Heavenly Parent and True Parents.
The event itself was amazing also. I was so much more open to accepting different things and staying focused and attentive to not only True Mother, but to everyone and everything. One thing I realized was the African American Christian’s acceptance of True Mother being The Mother of Peace and the Only Begotten Daughter. Growing up and even while fundraising on GPA, I receive so much persecution which has made it so hard to even tell others of who I am and who I represent. But seeing these people completely accepting True Mother and what she was saying moved me a lot. I felt safe and I felt proud. Proud to be able to follow True Mother and proud to be a Unificationist.
One other amazing experience I had was dancing the “Mujogeon.” For the past few years that was something I have done constantly during events, and I actually enjoyed it. Not during practices, but while performing it I felt so much energy and joy. During the last Hyojeong workshop, I had the privilege to dance on stage, and I felt like it couldn’t get any better. This year I was chosen to dance in the aisles which I humbly accepted. As we performed, I poured my heart out and everything I had into the dance and chanted in my head, “This is for you, True Mother.” As we got to the point in the song where we raise our hands and yell, I felt tears welling up in my eyes. I realized how much heart we put in to create this beautiful offering for True Mother. Thank you for this opportunity.” –Terushi Nakaza, 18, Indiana
“Growing up as a Unificationist, it was so common to receive a lot of persecution from Christians, but this weekend showed that we are living in a different age. Holding a rally in a Christian mega church and seeing their lead pastor testify to our True Parents is like the fulfillment of all my hope as a second-generation. I am so grateful for True Mother’s leadership and I pray that she can live longer to witness the fulfillment of God’s long awaited dream. Having been part of the Youth Revival program which was well organized by our National YAYAM leadership team, I was so moved by how proud our young people were of True Parents and how determined they were to support True Mother. It was heart moving to see the excitement when it was announced that we would be able to sit in front when True Mother delivers her message. Although it may have been for logistical reasons, I think it was an important shield of protection that was formed around True Mother. I am very excited for this kind of event to take place in the rest of the country. I am especially excited for True Mother to come to our Midwest Subregion. I will do my best to make it a success. I pray that these series of events may help awaken the spirit of America and lead us to National Restoration.” –Josue Kisile, 25, Michigan
“I was so glad to be able to attend True Mother and sit in front of her. When she proclaimed her position as the Only Begotten Daughter, I wanted to make sure that all the other Christians would see that she is truly the Messiah, because only she has brought together so many youth to attend God and proclaim peace. Only The Mother of Peace, my mother, could do that. I also wanted to praise louder and harder than anyone else, so that everyone would know that we love Jesus also, and that being Unificationist doesn’t mean rejecting Jesus, but rather loving him, and attending True Parents, Jesus’ own hope.” –Marcus Fuller, 23, Las Vegas
“Thank you, True Mother for all your hard work! I can’t imagine what you go through everyday, it must be so difficult but you still persevere for God every single day. I’m sorry for not being able to work harder for you and give you more support. When you were speaking, I felt you really wanted to trust us, we are your only hope. Even though you are tired, you need us to help you. Though it is so difficult for you, you still give everything for God. I am trying to become someone who can help you, who you can trust. You are the reason why I am doing a second year of GPA. Thank you, True Mother. Saranghamnida!” –Lisa Regidor, 29, New York
“CARP Las Vegas brought a friend who is spiritually open. I was checking up on him from time to time since he would be by himself. I was actually worried he was feeling some negativity for some reason and he didn’t want to participate with others. He said he needed time to reflect. As I caught up with him a little later, he told me that what he’s been reflecting is on the significance of the event. He was sharing how he was receiving signs that this is so significant, not just in the physical level, but on the spiritual level. He also said that the air smelled different, like cologne, and that was a good sign. Good spirits were there. Lastly, he commented about the “Mujogeon” dance, how that is so significant as well. He said that this is so beautiful, because we are expressing unconditional love toward our True Parents. All this really made me think how significant this must be. True Parents speaking at a Christian mega-church? The congregation recognizing her as Mother Moon, The Mother of Peace? It really shatters many concepts that I have. In the midst of all the chaos, where people are confused and religion seems to be the enemy of people, I can see more clearly why the world needs True Parents today. It’s not just some blind commitment that our church is devoting our lives for. More and more, it’s just making sense that we need someone who can bring about a new and deeper understanding of God beyond what people understand from modern-day religion, and a central person that can bring us all together in this crazy time. It would be of disservice if I didn’t acknowledge the beauty I felt in seeing how the young Unificationists were there to inherit from our Christian brothers and sisters. I truly believe second-generation need to experience witnessing and sharing the Divine Principle in order to understand the value of being in this movement. The people that we witness to are not guests, outside members, or even just friends. They are our long-lost brothers and sisters and we need to bring them back. Only when we experience the blood, sweat, and tears of investing into someone’s life to bring them to God can we understand His heart. It was beautiful to see during the devotional praise and worship service, that everyone was all blended together, no title or label of faith, but simply brothers and sisters praising our Heavenly Parent. I truly felt that our God must’ve been so happy.” –Ryota Naito, 23, Las Vegas
“The event was really fun, but I was nervous because it was my first time performing the dance, especially in front of True Mother! It was my first time seeing her in person, so I didn’t know what to expect. However, when True Mother gave her speech, it was really inspiring! When she talked about peace and how we should live selflessly so there will be no wars or weapons, it made me realize how selfish I was. When she talked about how humanity failed Jesus and our responsibility to create a country for God, I realized I needed to step up and do my part! In the future, I hope I can live the life based on the principles and create a family that True Parents want. Seeing everyone singing and dancing at the event together in peace was really amazing!” –Johnnie Tang, 23, Los Angeles
“I was told this event has significant importance. It was going to be a turning point for America. I may have not be able to see that, but I felt real power in this event. The production and the performance may have not been the best, but the heart behind the event, and the heart that True Mother had seeing both our movement and the Christian clergy attending her and committing themselves to serve God has shown me it is a turning point. Being with my brothers and sisters, performing with them, and moving forward with them for this point is really a blessing and a privilege to be a part of. I will do my best for you and Heavenly Parent from this point on to bring about vision 2020. Thank you, True Mother for believing in us.” –Sirius Thurston, 22, San Diego
“It was really good to hear from Sun Jin Nim and the True Mother of humankind once again! I’m glad I made the journey from the other side of the country to come out to LA and witness how much the Holy Spirit has vitalized so many people. I really do hope that this momentum and energy can be brought over to the east coast as well. I do love my home district and wish for something as big as this to happen local to me one day!” –Zenas Rush, 20, Virginia
“This weekend was one of the best because I was able to welcome, see, hear and support True Mother. I was also able to recharge my faith. I was really connected to Sun Jin Moon’s talk on Friday evening, and I realized this is the time to make Mother proud because she has hope in us. I really loved how we sat down in the front at the rally. For me I felt that second-generation were protecting Mother. Since Friday I was asking myself what are my gifts? This is the time I should use them for God and True Parents. Thank you!” –Sarafina Kisile, 23, Michigan
“I feel a new sense of inspiration and greater understanding of True Parents and the Divine Principle with every workshop that I get the chance to attend. Especially with this workshop, getting to hear directly from Sun Jin Moon and True Mother really helped me grasp another another vital building block for my understanding. This workshop definitely gave me a stronger conviction to build a stronger life of faith. And this workshop made it so clear that I was not only a daughter of God but of True Parents as well. Everything I was searching for and needed was enveloped in this workshop and rally. I can’t really express in words how life-changing this experience was for me and words can never express how grateful I am but thank you so much. I can only pray and hope that everyone there was able to inherit a portion of True Parents’, Sun Jin Moon, Jesus, and God’s heart and passion for humanity and this world. Once again, thank you.” –Tamana Ishibashi, 18, San Francisco
“I had the unique opportunity to work in Los Angeles to prepare to receive True Mother. Dr. Michael Jenkins asked me to come and help prepare the week before Mother spoke. I shared a rental house with Dr. Luonne Rouse, Pastor Mark Abernathy, Revs. Bruce Grodner and Tom Cutts, Paul DiLorenzo who drove down from Montana, Rev. Levi Daugherty and Dr. Jenkins.
For one week, the seven of us attended every church meeting, Bible study and church service possible. We held smaller meetings with the ministers, and we invited them to the Saturday Prayer Breakfast the week before the Peace Starts With Me rally. I have been working with ministers since 1984 and I never experienced anything quite like my week in Los Angeles. Pastor after pastor testified that they have been praying for a revival to take place in Los Angeles. And they said they felt our presence in Los Angeles was the answer to their prayers.
Obviously, God had prepared the environment for our presence. But the deepest experience for me was the unity of the seven brothers I was living with. Dr. Rouse is amazing. He gets up every morning at 4:00 a.m. to pray and I never once saw him take a nap. He is brilliant, theological, and most of all loving. He and Mark Abernathy are as one team in their ACLC work. Then God sent Rev. Daugherty like the cherry on top of the cake. What a team.
At night we arranged simple dinners, especially for new ministers at a local Marie Callendar’s. Through the other ministers, many new pastors who had never met us before were joining. One night a minister who had heard all the negative stuff about our movement joined us. He truly believed that since we already had the Bible, there was obviously no need for anything else. Responding to this, Dr. Jenkins changed his prepared power-point into one of the most powerful testimonies for God that I have ever heard. Although his dinner was sitting before him on the table, the minister never even took one bite during Dr. Jenkins presentation.
The immediate fruit of our efforts was that over 500 guests attended our Saturday morning Prayer Breakfast the week before the event. Bishop Noel Jones’ assistant pastor, Elder Perry gave an incredible sermon with the message that instead of saying “as soon as this hardship passes everything will be all right,” we should realize that God is stretching and expanding our heart in order to make it through the difficult times.
Now, Mother is coming to Las Vegas in June and Chicago in October. Please come and help prepare the way for God to succeed through her.” –Bruce Sutchar
