True Mother: A Beacon of Hope for Europe
True Mother’s European Tour kicked off on May 10, 2015 in Vienna, where longtime missionary and pioneer families were honored for their years of service.
European Unificationist families from all over the continent gathered in Vienna to hear True Mother’s message and to celebrate 50 years of the Unification Movement in Europe.
After True Mother’s main message on May 10, over 400 young professionals also attended the first European Cranes Club event with True Mother. The energy was so high, True Mother expressed her happiness singing two songs with the participants.
The next day, True Mother spoke at the United Nations in Vienna at the celebration of the 70 years of the UN. Below are the three messages True Mother gave to European families in Vienna, the Cranes Club participants and the United Nations.
Let Hope Become a Lighthouse
True Mother spoke with the Cranes Club participants at the launching of the Cranes Club in Europe, at the Austria Center in Vienna on May 10.
“I named this club the Cranes Club. The crane is the national bird of Cheon Il Guk, but everyone should look to the crane’s life as a role model. The crane is the longest living creature in the Orient and receives the most love. Chinese people often talk about dragons but a dragon is an imaginary creature. As you know, the crane is without greed. Sparrows will keep eating even though they are full. Perhaps that is why they are not very big. Yet the crane will always only eat 70 percent of what it can eat, which is why it can fly so high and live so long. You need to become like the crane. Greed is bad in all forms. That is why we emphasize living for the benefit of others.”
Beacons that Bear the Fruit of Hope for the Future
True Mother encouraged Unificationists in Europe to continue to grow their roots in her Sunday message on May 10 in Vienna.
“When we observe European culture, there are many stories similar to those of the Unification Movement. In Europe, Christian culture, which began empty-handed, has led the world for the past two-thousand years. What did Jesus say he would do upon his advent? He said he would hold the marriage supper of the Lamb. In other words, he would emerge as the True Parents to save fallen humanity. Unfortunately, Christian culture still dwells within the New Testament Age. We have moved forward ahead of them.
The history of Unificationist missionary work in Europe is now fifty years. That is more than half our life span. Now what are we to do? You were able to grow deep roots in this land during the past fifty years. No force can get rid of you anymore. The roots you have grown will remain strong and hold you through to the day you achieve the hope of Heaven and of humankind.”
The Mission of the United Nations for Securing Peace in the World
True Mother gave the keynote address at the celebration of the 70 years of the United Nations on May 11 in Vienna.
“We must know the truth: There is a limit to human thought and action. Man is also part of the creation. This implies that there is a creator. Hence, you must know the absolute God. What was God’s ideal for His creation? Why didn’t that ideal come about? Though the number of member nations in the United Nations has increased to 193 to date, the United Nations has not been able to guide all member nations in one direction.
From this standpoint, it is necessary that we know what is true. A movement to attend God, in particular, must take place in the United Nations. Within the creation, God is the parent of humankind. No matter how many siblings there may be, they can all become one if they attend and serve the parents. We must be able to find such a path.”
