Boston Family Church is seeking a Pastor

Boston Family Church seeks to hire a leader who is excited about directing the continuous growth, improvement and development of the local church community. Boston Family Church operates out of a 3,000 ft newly leased space in Woburn, Massachusetts. Features of the community include:

  • Governance by an elected Church Council, in place since 2013

  • A supportive, salaried Church Manager responsible for all administrative affairs

  • An interim ministry action plan, recently prepared by the community under the leadership of the Interim Pastoral Team

  • An annual operating budget of approximately $300,000 funded by donations, tithing and investments

  • An active young adult ministry

  • Approximately 25 active elder generation families/couples, 6 active younger generation couples, plus 10 to 15 active younger generation individuals

Pastor Responsibilities:

  • Lead & support outreach programs, with the purpose of continuously and significantly increasing active membership

  • Lead the development and success of ministry teams

  • Participate in the Sunday Service ministry team, including regular delivery of main message

  • Continuous personal development through study, formal ministry training and study at HJI as appropriate

  • Continuously encourage the engagement and well-being of all segments of the church community

  • Supervise all internal church communications

  • Administer church affairs (assisted by the Church Administrator and Financial Director)

  • On behalf of BFC, maintain mutually supportive communications and cooperation with subregional and regional leadership

  • Non-voting participation in meetings of the Boston Family Church Council including presentation of a monthly “Pastor’s Report”

Required Qualifications:

  • A person of dedicated faith, having received True Parents’ marriage blessing

  • Exemplary family life and life of faith, including tithing

  • Significant prior experience in ministry activism & leadership

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver meaningful Sunday messages based upon True Parents’ teachings

  • A heart to serve and care for Blessed Families

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desired Qualifications:

  • A person of dedicated faith, having received True Parents’ marriage blessing

  • Exemplary family life and life of faith, including tithing

  • Three or more years of prior experience in ministry activism & leadership and organizational development

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver meaningful Sunday messages based upon True Parents’ teachings

  • A heart to serve and care for Blessed Families

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Compensation will depend upon qualifications and on whether a full-time or part-time position is held. The salary range for a full-time position is $5,000-10,000 per month

  • 3-year term, extendable after review

  • Benefits for a full-time pastor include health, dental, and life insurance

  • Annual performance and salary review
