Inheriting from the Mother of Peace
How can we practice having the heart of True Mother?
Women clergy addressed this question with their personal testimonies during the recent World Christian Leadership Conference (WCLC) program, “Inheriting from the Mother of Peace.” The live webinar, streamed November 29, featured special guest speakers Pastor Marion Dudley of New Beginnings Ministry of Faith in North Carolina; Rev. Dr. Madelene Clark-Alexander, founder of House of Judah Empowerment Outreach Ministries in Indiana, and Min. Marie Rouse, senior advisor of ACLC Women In Ministry.
“Mother Moon made us very aware of the importance of prayer, especially for peace,” shared Pastor Dudley, who first connected with the Unification movement in 2008. Pastor Dudley was among the 40 clergy in Las Vegas who recently met with True Mother in early October.
“It moved my heart to see her in person, and we want to follow her leadership,” Pastor Dudley said. “We are so inspired by Mother Moon’s willingness to bring people together.”
“There are things God has called us to do,” she continued, before referencing the era of Cheon Shim Won established by True Mother. “We feel privileged that we have the first Cheon Shim Won on a Christian campus [at New Beginnings Ministry of Faith],” she said. “We are so incredibly grateful.”
The women clergy shared how True Mother’s teachings on love, respect, and the critical importance of the family unit have been transformative in their own lives of faith and within their worship community.
“[True Parents] have walked the Bible,” Rev. Dr. Clark-Alexander said. “Mother has the gift, the love, and the intentionality to bring all people together.”
“I’ve been enhanced, increased, and elevated by what I’ve learned from Mother,” she continued, “to focus on what we all have in common and not our differences ... Mother has the love and nurturing spirit for all people; she has the tenacity and embodiment of being humanity’s mother.”
Minister Rouse said True Mother’s “clear vision” and “total dedication” toward a peaceful world has personally inspired her to “step up and actively work” toward building the kingdom of heaven. “Through her leadership, [True Mother] has shattered glass walls for women to take on influential roles in society,” said Min. Rouse. “Mother has inspired me to strive for excellence in my work and all areas of my life ... I will teach many other women the gifts she has shared with me.”
Applauding True Mother’s wisdom and foresight, the women noted that attending the Only Begotten Daughter brings about great responsibility among clergy. “There has been a transference of her heart to us,” Rev. Dr. Clark-Alexander said. “This is a season, time, and era where True Parents have to be acknowledged as God brings us all together in fellowship.”
