Leading in the Era of True Mother’s Embrace

Leaders of the World Christian Leadership Conference (WCLC) reflected on True Mother’s October 7 visit to Las Vegas, where she was received by around 100 people including 40 ACLC clergy, and by 1,200 youth on October 8. The WCLC virtual program “Leading in the Era of True Mother’s Embrace” on October 25 highlighted True Mother’s message, as well as the renewed determination of the faith community to share about True Parents during this providential time.

“We are committed together [to address] Christianity in crisis,” said Bishop George Augustus Stallings. “Mother Moon has asked us to come together and unite, and we can create great God-centered families, communities, nations, and the world.”

Bishop Stallings was one of three featured WCLC speakers to share a personal testimony from the ACLC event “Raise the Flag,” which took place the weekend of True Mother’s visit. “We wanted to make sure we were spiritually prepared so that we could respond to what True Mother wants us to do for Christianity and the world,” he said.

“More than ever before, I could somehow sense the weight she carries on her shoulders being the mother of humanity,” Bishop Stallings continued. “These clergy were specifically selected by our leadership to experience True Mother’s heart and embrace. All the ACLC affiliated churches were encouraged to raise the flag of the Unification movement to show this Christian solidarity and oneness,” he said. “We cannot hold back on the testimony of revealing who True Mother is; our testimony is very important at this critical time.”

For Archbishop Sulanch Lewis, another WCLC  speaker, True Mother’s message “added oxygen to my fire,” she said. True Mother’s message implored ACLC clergy to reveal that she is the Only Begotten Daughter, and to “reveal the truth of Heaven, the original essence of the Creator, and the fundamental nature of Jesus,” as well as the the role of religious leaders as the sons and daughters of True Parents.

“My heart was filled with gratitude when I looked at True Mother,” said Archbishop Lewis. “She gave us her heartfelt love and words to energize us.” Archbishop Lewis noted that education and awareness is needed moving forward, but also interfaith dialogue; promotion of cultural understanding; prayer and meditation; acts of kindness, and to teach forgiveness and reconciliation — all through leading by example.

“I know True Mother is fully anchored to her mission and bringing it to a conclusion,” Archbishop Lewis said. “Religious leaders should embody the principles of love and unity for their congregations. We are moving together, forward in one direction, one determination, one voice, and one heart. It’s about recognizing the oneness of humanity where love and peace prevail.”

Pastor Joshua Holmes of the Los Angeles Family Church shared that he was personally inspired by all the elders and leaders he saw attending True Mother during the ACLC event, and all the youth who participated in the following “Resurgence” program. “[This is] demonstrating filial piety and hyojeong,” said Pastor Holmes. “Everything comes down to one fundamental thing: the parent-child relationship that we’re resurging on all levels. We want to uphold this spirit and understanding ... to bring about the Kingdom of Heaven here on Earth.”
