Message from Rev. Demian Dunkley on the Devastation Caused by Hurricane Helene

Dear Family,

On September 26, Hurricane Helene made landfall, sweeping up the Southeast and leaving a deadly trail of destruction across Florida’s Gulf Coast, Georgia, the Carolinas, Tennessee, Virginia, and Kentucky. Over the past week, we have been closely monitoring the impact. We are grateful to share that, so far, all our members in the affected areas are safe and unharmed.

However, Hurricane Helene has been catastrophic, with widespread destruction affecting countless families and communities across several states, killing over 200 people. Some of our members are still facing damage from flooding. It is heartbreaking to see the devastation that so many are enduring, and our thoughts and prayers are with those who have been affected.

In light of this disaster, we encourage our communities to unite to support those in need. As we have witnessed in previous crises, our collective efforts can make a significant difference. Whether through donations, volunteering your time, or reaching out to those you know in the affected areas, every action counts. For instance, you can donate to the American Red Cross, which is offering relief to victims.
