June 17 marks the 2nd anniversary since True Mother’s memoir, Mother of Peace, was made available in the U.S. in 2020. The bestselling memoir, first published in Korean and then translated into multiple languages, recalls True Mother’s journey from a war-torn childhood in North Korea, to spearheading a number of peacebuilding initiatives and the global Unification movement with her late husband, the Rev. Sun Myung Moon. Her memoir continues to touch millions of lives two years later.

In late May, Revs. Tim and Margaret Sisseron, a Unificationist couple living in Palau — an archipelagic nation in the Western Pacific Ocean — received five boxes of the memoir which were shipped from California by Rev. Kevin Thompson, FFWPU USA West regional leader. The Sissersons have testified to True Mother and Unification teachings with the island country for many years.

In a quarterly report, the couple detailed outreach activities from this spring, including youth leader meetings in the state of Ngiwal; establishing a holy ground in the capital city of Koror; serving breakfast to a ladies’ volunteer group, as well as connecting with various local public officials, the U.S. military’s CAT team, and local radio and television producers — all of whom were given Mother of Peace.

Building on this momentum, Palau’s Vice President and Minister of Justice, Hon. Uduch Sengebau Senior, congratulated True Parents in a video message shared during the 62nd anniversary celebration of their Holy Marriage Blessing on April 9. It’s a testament of what is possible through dedication, networking, and supportive teamwork.

The Sissersons also received a substantial donation from Rev. Dr. Staffan Berg in Arizona to offset high gas prices, making it possible to continue traveling the country and pursue their outreach efforts. The couple is now coordinating to meet with Palau’s 16 States Governor Association and National Congress.

On this 2nd anniversary of Mother of Peace, we remember the transformative power it has to touch the hearts and minds of people all over the world. Below is an excerpt from Chapter Seven in which True Mother shares the importance of loving God, people, and our county.

Excerpt:

Born during the final years of the Japanese occupation of Korea, I grew up in an oppressed environment. After our country gained independence, oppression continued at the hands of the communist regime. And yet, my family steadfastly attended God, and at the risk of our lives, we traveled south into South Korea in search of freedom. When the Korean War broke out, I moved as a refugee from school to school, from Seoul to Daegu, Jeju, Chuncheon and back to Seoul. This imprinted upon me a great appreciation of education...

We must improve the results of education ... We must guide young people to acquire knowledge and wisdom on the foundation of physical fitness and good character. We need to understand that God is the original substance of true love and truth and the original form of character, and we need to live by following His Will ... To love people is to practice “living for the sake of others” and foster a spirit of harmony and public service. To love your nation means to cultivate your God-given talents, love your homeland, and build God's kingdom. We all are responsible to raise the next generation of truly good and talented men and women.
