Media Alert– Raid on Cheongpyeong and True Mother’s Response
July 22, 2025
A Violation of Sacred Ground and Basic Decency
I have just returned from Korea, where I arrived in the aftermath of a deeply disturbing event: over 1,000 police officers and special prosecutors stormed our sacred grounds in Cheongpyeong, without notice, without restraint, and without regard for basic human dignity.
Dr. Hak Ja Han, lovingly known around the world as Holy Mother Han, the Mother of Peace, was treated as though she were a threat to society. She is not. She is a spiritual leader of the highest moral authority, a woman of peace, and a mother to millions. What occurred in Cheongpyeong was not law enforcement—it was political theater, conducted with unnecessary force and veiled in the illusion of justice.
They did not merely raid buildings. They entered sanctified ground, a place millions regard as holy, with a show of force more befitting a military siege than a legal investigation. When the state storms a sanctuary, it does more than violate physical space. It violates a covenant—a sacred trust between people of faith and the institutions meant to protect freedom and fairness.
This act demands accountability. Who authorized the deployment of over 30 police buses and more than 1,000 agents to descend on our community in this manner? Who justified this misuse of national resources? And who will apologize for the appalling treatment of an elderly woman who has done nothing but advocate for peace her entire life?
The Family Federation has always cooperated fully with governmental inquiries—not just in Korea, but around the world. We have shown respect even when our beliefs were misunderstood, even when our practices were questioned. That cooperation was not returned.
We are peacebuilders. Dr. Hak Ja Han is a global advocate for dialogue, reconciliation, and unity. To respond to her message of peace with aggression is not just unfair—it is unjust.
This moment calls not for silence, but for accountability, fairness, and respect. The actions taken in Cheongpyeong were unacceptable, and the world is watching.
