Reconnecting Hearts to God
“The New Life Campaign is going very well,” said lead organizer Rev. David Rendel. “I think this is not just a project, but we’re building a new lifestyle for our movement in America.”
Rev. Rendel shared updates in early April about the new outreach initiative, which aims to have at least 120 Unificationists across North America bring three new members each to their local communities by the 10th anniversary of True Father’s seonghwa in August.
“As of right now, we have 370 people signed up so far,” said Rev. Rendel. “There are a lot of young people who are engaged in this and it’s exciting to see.” Rev. Rendel said the largest group demographic of campaign volunteers are 18 to 24 years old, as well as 35 to 44 year old members.
“We’ve had a lot of new people sign up,” he said. “The signups are by age group, so it’s very interesting to see this breakdown. As more candidates are being recorded, we’re quickly exceeding the original goal.”
The New Life Campaign is a component of FFWPU USA’s national goals for 2022, where outreach is a top priority. Since March, Dr. Chung Sik Yong, FFWPU regional president of North America, has embarked on a 50-state tour to revive the faith of young people in our movement as well. “This campaign is the hope for America’s future,” he said. “Let’s really produce substantial results in every region and expand the realm of God’s love and blessings.”
FFWPU leaders said they are inspired to see how many young people are involved and committed to outreach efforts in their community. “The progress is quite amazing and I think everyone is doing a great job,” said Rev. Rendel. “Praying for these candidates and our witnessing is very important. There are a lot of husband and wife candidates already who are from all over the country in different regions.”
Rev. Rendel said states such as Colorado, Iowa, New Jersey, and Nevada show great potential so far, with several outreach candidates identified.
“It’s amazing how many members have committed to witnessing to three new people by True Father’s seonghwa,” said FFWPU National President, Rev. Naokimi Ushiroda. “It’s quite phenomenal and a very specific kind of effort where our elders are really leading the way.”
In February, during World Summit 2022, True Mother encouraged Unificationists to be “bold” and “confident” in sharing about the movement’s teachings and values, as well as the role of True Parents.
“Wherever you work and wherever you go, there will always be righteous people for whom Heaven has labored, and that Heaven has prepared for this one day,” said True Mother. “Due to your unity with True Parents, people will be drawn to you as if you are magnets. I bless all of you to become those who step forward courageously and confidently.”
