“Tears came from my eyes when I saw wonderful couples of all ages sharing their love for one another,” said Mr. Kamara. “I haven’t found anyone to share my love with yet, but mighty God knows best.”

Mr. Kamara was one of 40,000 people across the U.S. who tuned in to the live Peace Starts With Me: Peace and Blessing event broadcasted on June 5 on PeaceStartsWithMe.com. The event had a tremendous effect on him and countless others tuning in around the globe.

Mr. Kamara, a Christian guest at the Brooklyn Family Church, was among some 14,000 clergy nationwide who participated in the program online.

Headlining the event, Mother of Peace Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, co-founder of Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU), shared a special address in which she talked about the plight of America and the rest of the world, and said families centered on God, our Heavenly Parent, is the powerful solution to achieving a world of lasting peace.

“The Puritan fathers built America as a democratic nation,” said Dr. Moon. “They prioritized building a place of worship and built schools to educate future leaders.”

“God blessed America and America must, therefore, fulfill its responsibility,” she said. “America cannot repeat the mistake of going against Heaven’s Will. The Puritan fathers understood the importance of the family in serving God.”

The Peace Starts with Me: Peace and Blessing event celebrated the Marriage Blessing movement highlighting families as the bedrock of a more peaceful, healthy society. The program promotes a lifestyle of putting God and others first.

“The path to resolving the critical challenges facing today’s world lies in understanding God’s wish to be the Parent of Humanity,” said Dr. Moon. “In other words, humanity should attend our Creator as our Heavenly Parent.”

“To do so,” she said, “I strongly encourage everyone to embrace the True Families Movement…  This is the key to America’s revival and the revival of the world.

The event, co-hosted by acclaimed radio personality Liz Black and Pastor Joshua Holmes, inspired a number of participants who came together for watch parties in person and online.

“I invited a neighbor from Peru and a Muslim family from Ghana,” said Monika Lewis, a Unificationist in New Jersey. “The Ghanian husband said that family values are needed and without this kind of blessing initiative, there will be more breakdown of family and society… My Peruvian neighbor loved the program and asked more questions about our Blessing experience.”

For the Krishnek family in Washington state, the program deepened their relationship with fellow community members.

“Ten of us joined together for the watch party,” said Unificationist Rev. Larry Krishnek. “Two ladies are interested in the Blessing. It was the birthday of one of them, so after watching the program we had a big birthday celebration for her.  She was deeply moved and so happy!”

“It was a great day,” he said. “I think we’ve learned a lot and are in a position to make a huge impact in America through the Blessing.”

In Connecticut, another watch party was underway with 25 people ranging in age from 12 to 30.

“The moment the special feature about the Blessing came on, you could hear a pin drop,” said Pastor Mika Deshotel of Bridgeport Family Church. “This was how transfixed everyone was and how moved they were to see the beautiful couples and hear the testimonies of their love for one another.”

“Though Mother Moon spoke firmly and tearfully, we felt so much renewed hope through her determination to invest in America,” said Pastor Mika. “I really appreciated the ‘call to action’ by Bishop Thomas and his wife… We did our own ‘call to action,’ inviting our youth and young adults to commit to a blessed lifestyle.”

An inspirational message from Bishop Noel Jones of City of Refuge megachurch in Los Angeles and captivating performances by singers Yolanda Adams, Bishop Hezekiah Walker, Israel Houghton, JoAnn Rosario-Condrey, Deitrick Haddon, and the Soul Children of Chicago left participants reveling in the spirit of peace and love for our brothers and sisters at home and around the world.

“May all citizens of the world join in this initiative with joyful hearts of gratitude,” said Dr. Moon. “It is my earnest hope and prayer that America’s leaders from all sectors together with the American people will seize this God-given opportunity.”
