Sexual Freedom Summit Creates Space for Candid Conversations

“I love High Noon, it provides a platform to talk about sexual integrity — a taboo subject where we have a safe place to openly discuss it,” says Concha, a mother of three and Unificationist participant from Maryland.

High Noon’s first Sexual Freedom Summit educated participants from Toronto to London and across the U.S. on April 23. The 24-hour global conference, live-streamed on social media and Zoom, featured a number of guest speakers covering a range of topics surrounding intimate relationships. The High Noon team, including Andrew Love, Robert and Carina Cunningham and Benjy Uyama, shared their personal insights with participants as well.

“We want to get everyone into the habit of speaking about sexuality, bringing it out into the light and talking about it in a heavenly manner,” said Andrew. “For some couples, this is also how they prepare for the Marriage Blessing in a heavenly way.”

People of all ages and backgrounds tuned in to the interactive summit where organizers examined sexual integrity, fidelity, pornography, and more. Participants also heard testimonials about High Noon’s online courses and podcast.

“High Noon has helped me with how to talk to my children about sexual integrity and how to prepare mentally to have this discussion without awkwardness,” shared one parent in her testimony. “I just really felt this was so helpful for me and made me more prepared.”

“Living at a higher, elevated standard requires us to give up something to gain something better,” shared a young Unificationist in his testimony. “The level of commitment that is required to overcome a pornography habit, or other things, requires effort and commitment ... High Noon living means confronting those things and holding ourselves accountable.”

The High Noon team also discussed different resources available to participants, including their book, Core of the Universe: God’s Vision for Love, Sex, and Intimacy, and various courses designed for couples, families, and single people.

“[High Noon] is a much more participatory journey than just figuring out what you believe about certain topics,” said Andrew. “Our book’s discussion questions bring up certain limitations or concepts you might have, so it’s quite enlightening.”

Participants had a chance to weigh in with their thoughts and questions as well, as they shared online commentary during the summit’s live Q&A session.

“I’d love to see this program brought to communities with town meetings, school boards, and parents to help teach about heavenly sexuality, abstinence, and bringing God back in the family,” shared Tim, a Unificationist in Kentucky. “I think this would be a great benefit to lift this country to a more heavenly standard.”

“The value of creating radiating couples to realize peace in the world really boosts my hope for the future,” said Pierre, a Unificationist from Canada. “I’m overjoyed with our worldwide network of members and friends and can see the real power of our movement being manifested with High Noon.”
