Sharing True Mother’s Heart and Mission

Hundreds of Unificationists have participated in a special program featuring Dr. Jin Choon Kim and Rev. Dong Mo Shin, who were sent from Korea to America by True Mother. Their tour, which began in September, has brought together members from different parts of the country in advance of True Mother’s visit to Las Vegas in early October.

“I felt many of the participants were prepared to receive and open their hearts because we [previously] had the Rebirth workshop from Rev. Demian Dunkley,” shared Assistant Pastor Atsushi Takino of the Clifton Family Church in New Jersey. “This was a new experience and truth for me,” he said about the program during remarks at an FFWPU-USA leaders’ meeting on Sept. 26. “For me, my takeaway was that the holy wedding ceremony of True Parents was the turning point for salvation of human history,” Pastor Takino said. “The holy wedding of True Parents was God’s dream.”

More than 350 people took part in the workshop led by Rev. Shin and Dr. Kim at the Clifton and Belvedere churches. The twosome are conveying True Mother’s heart for America and the pivotal role of True Parents at this providential time. Referencing the program, Pastor Takino noted how True Father mentioned the Only Begotten Son more than 350 times in his volumes of speeches, and mentioned the Only Begotten Daughter more than 150 times. “I was so inspired by this,” he said.

For one local youth leader, he said Rev. Shin and Dr. Kim’s perseverance and determination in the face of criticism back home gave him a new perspective and appreciation for True Mother and the Unification faith. “They continue to move forward and defend and uphold True Parents’ values confidently, sharing the truth in their communities,” he said.

“I believe True Mother sent them as our older brothers from Korea to show this heart of hyojeong no matter what [they experience],” he continued. “They never give up trying to testify to True Parents, and what True Mother — especially at this time — wants to reveal. Even if the content is uncomfortable or difficult to share with many of their members, they still stand their ground and share about True Parents ... [True Mother] constantly says we need to lead in spirit and truth.”

In Washington, DC, Rev. Shin and Dr. Kim were also warmly received by more than 300 people at the Capital Family Church. “The audience was fully engaged and paying attention to the presentations,” said Dr. Achille Acolatse, senior pastor of the Southeast region. “It was amazing to really understand intellectually and heartistically the stature of True Parents ... It was very moving.”

“True Mother is the one who is directly representing God’s heart and presence,” shared one participant, who said he was deeply moved by the program outlining and explaining True Parents’ challenging course. “She’s the Only Begotten Daughter of God guiding us and coming under pure foundation.”

Unificationists across America will have the opportunity to see True Mother at IPEC in Las Vegas on October 7.
