Rev. Dunkley’s Message: Supporting Our Children Toward the Blessing

November 27, 2024

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

True Mother is really excited about the upcoming Cosmic Blessing in Korea on April 12, 2025. She has said that this will be an historic blessing as it is associated with the Cheon Won Gung Entrance Ceremony and the start of a new era. Furthermore, this time there will be a special grace offered to all, so there is really no one who will not be qualified to attend.

I’ve been reflecting on what it means for us, as parents, to help our children take steps toward the blessing. It’s one of the most significant decisions they’ll ever make, shaping their future and their connection to God’s ideal. As parents, we want nothing more than to see our children happy, fulfilled, and living with purpose, and guiding them toward the blessing is one of the most meaningful ways we can support them.

At the same time, we know that this decision can feel overwhelming for our young people. They may wonder, “Am I ready? What if I make a mistake? Am I still qualified? How do I know this is the right time?” Many are genuinely interested but hesitant to take the first step.

This is where we, as parents, play such an important role. We don’t need to have all the answers or make the process perfect. What matters most is that we’re present—listening to their thoughts, offering encouragement, and creating an environment where they feel supported. Sometimes, it’s as simple as starting a conversation or spending time praying together.

True Mother has encouraged us to create an environment where our children feel safe to explore their path to the blessing. One way we can do this is by setting aside regular, sacred time to connect with each of our children individually—time to pray, talk, and listen with an open heart.

In my own family, I’ve seen how these moments of connection can deepen our relationships. Even when the conversations don’t go perfectly, they build trust and help us move forward together. It’s a simple but powerful way to show our children that we are with them every step of the way.

Every family’s journey is unique, and there’s no single right way to approach this. But I believe that by showing our love and interest, we can make the path toward the blessing less intimidating and more joyful for our children.

Thank you for walking this journey together as one family under Heaven.
