Unified Leadership Summit Brings Clear Vision
“This summit was an opportunity to come together for a singular vision of restoring Los Angeles,” said Joshua Holmes, YCLC national director and co-pastor of the Los Angeles Family Church. “We also wanted to inspire people with the Divine Principle and begin their leadership direction by receiving more education about True Parents’ teachings and their life.”
Headlined by national Unificationist leaders, the Unified Leadership Summit held March 25 in Pasadena, Calif., had some 116 participants — including 60 guests — who came together with the shared goal of educating the movement’s Ambassadors for Peace and reviving the spirituality of the nation’s second-largest city. Recent census data reports Los Angeles is home to nearly four million people. With strength in numbers and cooperation, Pastor Joshua said, “the main thing we want [to achieve] is creating a sense of unity within the various organizations of [our movement] here in LA [to reach our goals].”
The summit featured key leaders of affiliate organizations YCLC, ACLC, WFWP, and UPF. Speakers included Dr. Chung Sik Yong, FFWPU North America regional president, and Dr. Michael Jenkins, UPF international president, who shared guidance in expanding the providence in California and America at large. Dr. Jenkins expressed excitement for the LA community, stating, “their clarity...and foundation is universal.”
Pastor Joshua said Dr. Yong’s lecture on the attributes of true love particularly moved him and the audience. “It gave people a taste of what Father and Mother Moon are trying to help people [realize] when it comes to the essence of true love and that standard,” he shared in an FFWPU USA leaders’ meeting on March 28. “It was an incredible experience. The victory of [the summit] was in the unity of everything...Unity is not easy, because if it was, this world would look different.”
The summit, which also honored a longtime Ambassador for Peace, included words from UPF LA Directors Nasser and Ulli Zomorod, as well as WFWP USA President Kaleigh Moffitt. The West Coast region continues to work toward its goal of 3,000 Ambassadors for Peace by 2027, while U.S. leaders aim for 30,000 ambassadors nationwide. This faith revival effort for America, led by Dr. Yong, centers on True Mother’s 2027 vision for the movement.
“Educating the Ambassadors for Peace makes them the owners of the providence of Cheon Il Guk...so they can all fulfill their roles as John the Baptist,” said Dr. Yong. “The Ambassadors for Peace are appointed through True Parents, representing people from all walks of life today. In educating them with the Divine Principle, they can restore the environment and take the lead in testifying to True Parents more than anyone else.”
