Northeast Kicks Off Regional Blue Dragon Educational Sessions
By Tamara Starr
After the successful launch of the Blue Dragon Tour on Sunday in Washington, D.C., Rev. Demian Dunkley, President of FFWPU USA, said that he will continue to work towards inspiring others to lead their communities with peace, love, and compassion.
Even though the New Jersey community will have its celebration on April 12, Northeast Subregional Senior Pastor Naokimi Ushiroda kicked off a regional tour to visit local communities and further explain the meaning and importance of the Blue Dragon Tour and the upcoming Pilgrimage opportunity in South Korea.
“This is the year of the Blue Dragon,” Pastor Naokimi said. “And the Blue Dragon means it will blow away all negative energy.”
He also spoke about the need to look towards the future, start planning, and inspire the next generation to lead their local communities and learn to celebrate great “Sunday services together.”
Sebastian Huemer, pastor of the Albany Family Church and Upstate New York, has always “recognized the great potential” for the area—especially around the Capital Region of New York, which includes parts of Massachusetts and Vermont. For now, the next step for the area will be to appoint the next generation of pastors. The community has already started the process and will work on creating an announcement soon.
For now, Pastor Naokimi, along with Northeast Subregion Secretary General Eunmi A. Rangala-Maddox, will continue touring all of the region's communities to discuss the future and help inspire young adults to register for the Blue Dragon Pilgrimage to Korea next month.
The next stop on the Blue Dragon Schedule is Los Angeles this weekend and then the Bay Area the following weekend. Follow the Family Fed USA Instagram account for the tour schedule and more exciting updates.
