Honoring Our Blessing Foundations
In a special program, “Honoring Our Blessing Foundations,” the first 13 couples Blessed in America in 1969 celebrated their 54th blessing anniversary and also honored the 777 Couples, which included the first American couples to receive the Blessing in Korea in October 1970.

True Parents officiated the 13 Couples Holy Marriage Blessing in 1969 at the historic Upshur House in Washington, DC. This was the first blessing ceremony held outside of Korea at the time, and the first of three ceremonies that together came to be known as the 43 Couples Blessing.

Honoring Black History Month
Since 1970, the U.S. has observed Black History Month each February, but its cultural origins date back 108 years — to 1915 — when a man named Carter G. Woodson created an organization dedicated to African-American life and history, and later initiated Black History Week in 1926.
